I just stumbled upon an event on Hutchinson Island yesterday and I am very interested in becoming a member. I was looking at the website and trying to see what i have to do and, it looks like I have to sign up for classes. I am having trouble finding all of the info though. I am in the Marine Corps and really have no time to take classes on weekdays. Are there weekend classes I can take? What else do I need to know to get started and get on the track?

Not sure what event or web site you were looking at. However, assuming you are interested in racing, you indeed do have to complete two race schools. These are almost always held on weekends and require you to have a race prepared car. For a comprehensive way to go racing, I suggest you get the book "Go Ahead and Take the Wheel." It is available through SCCA. Good luck and see you on the track soon.

Okay, PM me your mailing address. I happen to know where there is a spare copy that is not needed.

Thanks for the recommendation Richard. :) I'm in the process of attempting to put all of the information in my book onto my website, but it's a challenge to say the least.
I do have plenty of books in stock (way too many in my basement in fact LOL). www.GoAheadTakeTheWheel.com . SCCA will also have a supply in the next week or so.
As part of my website changes, I along with several others are working to establish a new mentor program. More to follow on that.
