Of course we wouldn't want to lower our uber-high standards of operations, but there is really no social advantage being too snobbish about it.
Waving blue is equivalent to a local yellow to NASCAR drivers.
Yellow is always full course to NASCAR drivers.
White is at S/F only, and simply indicates last lap. That happens in both professional worlds. It boils down to what the drivers are going to understand when they see you. And like any race track anyplace, they may not. But when they do, we can at least show them the courtesy of communicating in their language. No, it's not FIA-ish, or SCCA-ish. But it's also not some kind of 'holier-than-thou" rocket science. It is what it is, and that's the way it is. You know, "When in Rome...", and all that. The racing is still racing, just as competitive, and much more fun when they have to turn both directions.
Cascade Sports Car Club operated the K&N Filters NASCAR-W 125 at Portland International Raceway.
It was their second consecutive visit, and was much smoother than their first. Next year it should even be better.
At least this year they didn't attempt to operated the track like it was just a wiggly oval.
When they say "Put it out.", they are not talking about a fire.
Who knows, maybe it'll rain on 'em next year. We'll see how they work with that.
It's all about the fun.
